Macquarie Research sees national oil firm, Petronas's Capital Expenditure (Capex) contracting by 20 per cent to 44 billion ringgit in 2015 from 55 billion ringgit last year.

The research house said as a result of a recent directive by the ministry of finance to all government linked companies to stop buying foreign assets. It believes that Petronas would refocus on domestic fields and assets.
