The South American country is setting aside 11 million acres of land for national parks. That figure is three times the size of Yosemite and Yellowstone combined.
The Patagonian wildnerness is diverse and beautiful and is home to an array of wild animals. The move will increase tourism and make Chile one of the countries with the highest percentage of protected land in the world.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration plans to reduce the size of two Utah national monuments and to increase park admission fees.
