Ajin -- "demi humans" -- are people who cannot die, treated with suspicion and controlled by governments of the world as freaks of nature. Kei Nagai is instantly resurrected as an Ajin when he's in a hit and run accident, and finds himself caught in the middle of a massive government conspiracy and a brutal rebellion led by the elusive Ajin known only as Mr. Satô.
While some apparent changes have been made from the original story -- most notably, Satô has been aged down and Nagai has been aged up -- the trailer certainly reflects the frenzied action and rampant violence of the manga.
Opening in Japanese theaters on September 30th, we anxiously await a licensing announcement for those of us living elsewhere.
