AU-EU summit wraps up with calls for evacuation of Libyan migrant camps

In this edition: The EU and African Union summit in Abidjan wraps up, with leaders from both blocs agreeing to ramp up efforts to repatriate migrants being held in Libyan detention camps. Emmanuel Macron ended his tour of West Africa with a visit to Ghana - a first by a French president. He met his Ghanian counterpart Nana Akufo-Addo. And in Zimbabwe, the country’s main opposition leader says that despite ousted leader Robert Mugabe's human rights record, he shouldn't face legal action.


As the EU and African Union summit in Abidjan comes to an end, both blocs call for increased efforts to repatriate migrants being held in inhumane conditions in detention camps in Libya.And Emmanuel Macron becomes the first French president to make an official visit to Ghana. During meetings with President Nana Akufo-Addo in Accra, the two leaders agree that in boosting Franco-Ghanaian economic cooperation, Africa should take the lead.Finally, we hear from Zimbabwe’s main opposition leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, who says that despite ousted leader Robert Mugabe’s poor human rights record, he feels the 93 year-old's alleged misdeeds now should be left in the past.
