Woken up by the sweet song of hummingbirds, the adventurers continue their quest for the Big Seven. They hike up ancient mountains and explore mysterious caves covered in rock art. Oompie explains the meaning behind the pictures and tells stories of our Khoisan ancestors who lived here a long time ago.


Back in the Zebra Bus, the pressure soon starts building when the road is blocked by elephants. Soon they are trapped in the middle of a large herd! The youngsters are overwhelmed by the size of these giants. With mixed emotions of fear and pleasure, they watch two young elephant bulls fight one another while the rest of the herd walks past the Zebra Bus. But there’s a lot more to come!

The youngsters assist in an operation to dart elephants from a helicopter to change their radio collars. There are magic moments when the youngsters monitor the heartbeat of a massive old elephant with their palms, and feel the air blowing out of her trunk. They witness the close relationship that exists between the members of the herd when the big ones rally to protect a small baby elephant. Finally, they can tick the Big Five off their list.
