This giant pumpkin regatta is just smashing.

Pumpkin lovers are racing 14 giant gourds across a local lake in Oregon City. Some of the veggies aren't seaworthy, sinking along with their captains.

The competition is part of the 14th annual West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta. Four different races take place for members of the community, including police officers, firefighters, pumpkin growers and event sponsors.

Looks like everyone in the community had a gourd time.
