Twenty-two people were injured when a nightclub dancefloor collapsed in Tenerife, Spain in the early hours of this morning sending clubbers crashing to the basement.

The wounded were aged between 20 and 60 and have all been taken to hospital while some have suffered "severe" bone fractures, according to local media.

The accident took place at a club near the popular holiday location Playa de Las Americas.
