On Thursday, a suicide bomb attack near a gathering of supporters of an influential regional leader killed at least nine people and wounded many others in the Afghan capital of Kabul. According to the interior ministry, it remains unclear whether the politician, Atta Mohammad Noor, governor of the northern province of Balkh, was at he meeting at the time of the attack.
