Heavy overnight rain into Wednesday, November 15, triggered severe flooding in areas west of Athens, killing at least five people.
Roads turned into rivers with a section of a highway between Athens and Corinth left completely impassable when floodwater inundated an underpass.
This footage shows the underpass, in the industrial town of Mandra. A number of vehicles are caught up in the fast-moving floodwater, including a bus. A number of people are seen struggling through the water to safety. Credit: Ioanna Ziotou via Storyful
