Sickening CCTV footage captures the moment thieves kills and steal a family's pet dogs to eat them as meat.

The masked men on motorbikes pulled up outside the house in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam at 5am.

One man reaches through the mesh gate to electrocute one dog while another uses a harpoon to shoot a spear at another pooch's head. As they drag the dead creatures through the gate, a third dog starts barking and goes to tend to his friends - but is quickly killed with the electric shock device.

Shockingly, when the homeowner runs out after being woken by the noise, the gang points their weapons at him forcing him to retreat with his hands up. He told family he was ‘’scared they would shoot him’’ when he ran outside after hearing the dogs barking.
The family have ten dogs which they keep at their home in the Cu Chi district of the city but they say none have never had them stolen like this before.

Daughter Huyen Chau, 16, who lives at the house, said: ‘’It is very sad. We have ten dogs and for them to be killed and taken like this is heartbreaking. We understand that people do this because they don’t have any money. But to the people who did it I would like to say, 'if you see your face in the clip, would be ashamed or proud?’ Your parents must be disappointed, because you the this way. The dogs are defenceless animals and they don’t deserve that. ''

Vietnam is notorious for its dog meat trade which sees hundreds of thousands of dogs stolen from homes each year to be served as food. The dish is believed to increase a man’s virility and cure some diseases.
