As promised friends, here is my new Update to the How To Monetize Your Gaming Videos Series. This time, I talk about how to use Movies and Music as well as Gaming footage. \r
\r
1. Determine who owns the copyrights to the material you want to use in your YouTube video.\r
\r
2. Go to the copyright owners website and determine whether or not their existing terms of use gives you permission to use their copyrighted music, game orfootage in your videos.\r
\r
3. Find the best way to cont the copyright owner if they do not have a publicly posted terms of use giving you permission to use their music, game orfootage in your videos.\r
\r
4. Cont the copyright owner either on their website or via email to ask for their permission to monetize your videos using their content. YouTubes new policy no longer makes this mandatory, but its still good to have written permission if you ever to receive a content ID claim. \r
\r
5. Follow up. If you dont get an email back from a company within a few weeks, feel free to reach back out to them to follow up. Dont do this too much, though. \r
\r
I also summarize how to cont copyright owners to get the permissions you need to ensure your channel is safe from content ID matches and copyright strikes.\r
