A Donald Trump supporter was removed from the Columbia University campus during a student protest over a speech by alt-right media personality and conspiracy theorist Mike Cernovich on October 30.

The man, political activist Jovanni Valle, was ushered away from outside Alfred Lerner Hall, where students had gathered to voice their anger at the appearance by Cernovich. Valle later wrote on Instagram that he was “ambushed by antifa”. He also said one of the protesters took his phone, and that he met Cernovich in a bar after the event.

This video, shared by a Columbia University journalism student, shows Valle, wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap, chanting “free speech” as he is ushered off campus. He livestreamed the incident from his own perspective on Periscope and shared the footage on Twitter the same evening. Hundreds of protesters gathered at the university campus in New York but there was no violence, the New York Post reported. Credit: Twitter/Conor McCormick via Storyful
