Former House Speaker John Boehner recently spoke at length with Politico Magazine and shared insights into how Barack Obama succeeded in his efforts to kick the smoking habit. When asked if he'd ever seen Obama sneak a cigarette, he replied, "Oh no. No no no. He's scared to death of his wife. Scared. To. Death." 
While Boehner and Obama were largely foes, they did, according to the former speaker, spend more time together than commonly thought.
During a July appearance in Las Vegas, Boehner revealed he used to sneak into the White House to talk with the then-president. 
"If I didn't sneak in, if I went in like I would normally go in, the right-wing press would go crazy. 'What is Boehner up to?' The left-wing press would go just as crazy. 'What is Obama doing? He's going to let Boehner roll him again," he said. "You're dead before you even have an agreement."
