Armed militants have stormed a hotel in the Somali capital after ramming it with a a suicide car bomb.
According to the Reuters news agency, the vehicle exploded at the gate of Nasahablod Two hotel.
Major Abdullahi Aden, a police officer said: “They are fighting inside. So far we do not have casualty
figures.”
“It is a busy hotel frequented by lawmakers, (military) forces and civilians.”
The attack was followed within an hour by another car bomb explosion near a former parliament building in the city.
“The second car bomb occurred at the ex-parliament house where there were (military) forces,” Nur Mohamed, a police officer, told Reuters.
