സി.പി.ഐ.എം സംസ്ഥാന സെക്രട്ടറി കോടിയേരി ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്‍ നയിക്കുന്ന വടക്കന്‍മേഖലാ ജനജാഗ്രതാ യാത്രയ്‌ക്കെതിരെ ബി.ജെ.പിയും മുസ്‌ലിം ലീഗും. കോടിയേരി യാത്രക്കുപയോഗിച്ചത് സ്വര്‍ണ്ണക്കടത്തു കേസിലെ പ്രതിയുടെ വാഹനമാണെന്നു ലീഗും ബി.ജെ.പിയും ആരോപിച്ചു. കോടിയേരി ബാലകൃഷ്ണന്‍ കാരാട്ട് റസാഖിന്റെ കാറുപയോഗിച്ചത് സി.പി.ഐ.എമ്മും സ്വര്‍ണ മാഫിയയും തമ്മിലെ ബന്ധത്തിന്റെ തെളിവാണെന്ന് മുസ്ലീം ലീഗ് ആരോപിച്ചു. സംഭവം മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയന്‍ നേരിട്ട് അന്വേഷിക്കണമെന്ന് ലീഗ് നേതാവ് മായിന്‍കുട്ടി ഹാജി ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
