“Zootopia” features a remarkable roster of voice talent tapped to help bring the mammal metropolis to life, including Ginnifer Goodwin (ABCs “Once Upon a Time,” “Something Borrowed,” “Walk the Line”) as rookie rabbit officer Judy Hopps. Jason Bateman (“Horrible Bosses 2,” “This is Where I Leave You”) voices the con-artist fox, Nick Wilde. “We feel fortunate to have this caliber of talent—theyve really embraced all of this storys heart and humor in a way I dont think weve seen before,” says Spencer. “We recorded Ginnifer and Jason together as much as their schedules would allow. I think we have something special happening, which is exciting.”\r
Also included in the voice cast are Idris Elba (BBCs “Luther,” Golden Globe®-nominated for Netflixs “Beasts of No Nation”) as Judys no-nonsense cape buffalo boss Chief Bogo, Jenny Slate (“Obvious Child,” “Marcel the Shell”) as Assistant Mayor Bellwether, Nate Torrence (HBOs “Hello Ladies,” Foxs “Weird Loners”) as charming cheetah Clawhauser, and Bonnie Hunt (“Return to Me,” “Jerry Maguire”) and Don Lake (“Dumb and Dumber To,” “The Bonnie Hunt Show”) as Judys anxious, but supportive parents. The voice cast also features Tommy Chong (“Up in Smoke,” “That 70s Show”) as Yax the Yak, J.K. Simmons (“Juno,” Oscar® winner for “Whiplash”) as Mayor Lionheart, Octavia Spencer (“Insurgent,” Oscar® winner for “The Help”) as the distraught Mrs. Otterton, Alan Tudyk (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “Trumbo”) as Duke Weaselton, and Shakira as Zootopias biggest international pop star, Gazelle.\r
Rounding out the cast are Raymond Persi (“Wreck-It Ralph,” WDAS story artist) as Flash the sloth, Maurice LaMarche (“Pinky and the Brain,” two-time Emmy® winner “Futurama”) as Mr. Big, Tiny Lister (“Friday,” “The Fifth Element”) as Finnick, John DiMaggio (Foxs “Futurama,” Cartoon Networks “Adventure Time”) as Jerry Jumbeaux Jr., Katie Lowes (ABCs “Scandal,” “Big Hero 6”) as Dr. Madge Honey Badger, and Jesse Corti (“Frozen,” “Beauty and the Beast”) as Mr. Manchas.\r
Walt Disney Animation Studios “Zootopia” is directed by Howard (“Tangled,” “Bolt”) and Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”), and produced by Spencer (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “Lilo & Stitch”). Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”) is co-director/co-writer. The screenplay is by Bush and Phil Johnston (“Wreck-It Ralph”). John Lasseter is executive producer. Michael Giacchino (“Jurassic World,” Oscar®-winner for Disney•Pixars “Inside Out”) composed the score; the film also features the all-new original song, “Try Everything,” written by GRAMMY®-winning singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate, and performed by GRAMMY winner Shakira. Rated PG, “Zootopia” opens in theaters on March 4, 2016.
