It was a relatively less noisy Deepavali in Bengaluru this time around. While the city celebrated for three days with lights, lamps, and crackers, there was evidently increase in the number of people choosing to celebrate a noise-free, smoke-free Deepavali. The dip in sales of crackers, especially noisy ones was proof of the same. Wholesale traders in Hosur, the biggest cracker market near Bengaluru complained of increased prices by at least 30 per cent after GST and dipping interest from customers to buy crackers.
