Finally, I completely maxed out my town hall level 8 (TH8) base and got to upgrade - hurray! In thisI discuss how maxing out a base as much as possible can prove to be beneficial to you because it allows you to extend the time during which you have access to higher loot available numbers for players you want to raid if they are at or below your level. When you attack a player 1 level below you, you only can obtain 90% as many resources as you would otherwise be able to obtain if you were the same level as that player. But heres the big one, when you raid a player 2 levels below you, you can only loot 50% as many gold and elixir resources as you would have been able to if you were still at the same level as the player you are raiding. Crazy right? Obviously that is a HUGE difference. So, if youre a TH8 thinking about upgrading to a TH9, you might want to think twice before taking the plunge, because all those juicy TH7 targets youve been dominating will loose a whole lot of value. Thus, you should definitely be keeping the max out first upgrade strategy in mind at all times! Also, YOU become a more attrive loot target to someone you were previously two levels below and are now only one level below for this same ex reason, so maxing out at least your defenses before upgrading will make you less easy of a target to attack!\r

Note: I recorded this BEFORE the winter new update, so there is not a 2nd dark elixir drill, and the collectors and mines are level 11 instead of level 12.\r
