Cars is a CGI-animated filmand Disney media franchise set in a world populated by anthropomorphic vehicles. The franchise began with the 2006 film, Cars, produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The story is about rookie racecar, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson), who gets lost on the way to California for a tiebreaker race in the Piston Cup, a famous race worldwide, and ends up in a little town called Radiator Springs on Route 66, that had since been forgotten because the Interstate was built. He goes tror tipping with his new best friend Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) and goes on a drive with his love interest Sally Carrera (Bonnie Hunt). McQueen learns that there is more to life than just racing and sets up his racing headquarters in Radiator Springs, thereby putting it back on the map.\r

Cars 3 is the latestinstallment in the Cars franchise produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures in June 2017. It is the eighteenth Pixar film, the third installment in the Cars franchise and a sequel to Cars 2 (new). It is being directed by Brian Fee, a storyboard artist on Cars (2006) and Cars 2. After being trounced in many races by high tech racer Jackson Storm (Armie Hammer), Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) suffers a terrible crash. McQueens sponsor, Rust-eze, is bought by Sterling (Nathan Fillion), a car who thinks McQueen cant maintain his image by racing. Lightning asks for a chance to race in the Florida 500 and begins to train with race technician Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo), whos always had her own racing dreams.\r
