Congress warned North Korean EMP attack would kill '90% of all Americans'

Congress was warned Thursday that North Korea is capable of attacking the U.S. today with a nuclear EMP bomb that could indefinitely shut down the electric power grid and kill 90 percent of "all Americans" within a year.

At a House hearing, experts said that North Korea could easily employ the "doomsday scenario" to turn parts of the U.S. to ashes.

In calling on the Pentagon and President Trump to move quickly to protect the grid, the experts testified that an explosion of a high-altitude nuclear bomb delivered by a missile or satellite "could be to shut down the U.S. electric power grid for an indefinite period, leading to the death within a year of up to 90 percent of all Americans."

Buried in a Yonhap report about a joint US-South Korean Navy war drill is the revelation that, “A unit of U.S. special forces tasked with carrying out “decapitation” operations is aboard a nuclear-powered submarine in the group.”

Speculation is rife that the deployment could be what President Trump was referring to when he mentioned “the calm before the storm” in front of confused reporters two weeks ago.

Alberta government says $760 cab ride for panel members is justified

The NDP government is defending a $760 cab fare expense claim made by the chair of the Calgary and South Mental Health Review Panel.

Marilyn Smith submitted the ticket for a refund after she and two other members of the panel took a taxi from Calgary to Medicine Hat on May 5.
“These costs would be higher if panel members each drove their own vehicles, and triple or four times the cost if members travelled by plane,” read an email from Timothy Wilson, the press secretary for the health minister. “We do not force panel members to drive if they are not comfortable taking passengers.”

‘I am a feminist,’ Trudeau tells UN crowd

“I’m going to keep saying, loud and clearly, that I am a feminist. Until it is met with a shrug,” he told the UN women’s conference Wednesday, in an auditorium filled with a near-total female audience.
