Today I want to pay tribute to my grandma Maninha who passed away a few years ago but will always have a special place in my heart. Maninha was the defintion of kindness, forgiveness and being of service and led her life by example. Now that Im older I can see so many life lessons just looking at the way she lived her life and treated people and I feel blessed to have a grandma like her. \r

Maninhas style is the signature style of many women in Cape Vert. She often wore a blouse and midi skirt and tied a scarf around her hair. Or she would wear an apron on top and every day during her breaks she would smoke her beloved pipe \r
\r
Todays sewing tutorial is my modern interpretation of her look. If young women today would wear the Capeverdean style I hope it would look something like this! \r
