Heart sounds (S1, S2, S3, S4, murmurs) for nursing assessment examination. This video details the anatomy of the heart, heart sound auscultation points (sites), blood flow, diastole, systole, tips for distinguishing S1 from S2, and how to use the diaphragm and bell of the stethoscope when listening the atrioventricular (AV) and semilunar (SL) valve closure, such as the aortic, pulmonic (S2 sounds), tricuspid, and mitral valves (S1 sounds) and the extra heart sounds such as S3, S4, and murmurs. In addition, I talk about patient positioning to obtain the best acoustic sounds for heart sounds that includes sitting-up/supine, left side placement, and sitting-up, leaning forward. In the next video, I will perform a cardiac assessment of the heart by demonstrating how to place the stethoscopes chest piece to listen to heart sounds. \r
