President Trump on Friday stated, "we are saying Merry Christmas again."
President Trump has announced the return of the holiday phrase “Merry Christmas.”
He gave a speech during the conservative Values Voter Summit on Friday and said, “we are stopping cold the attacks on Judeo-Christian values.”
“You know, we're getting near that beautiful Christmas season that people don't talk about anymore. They don't use the word ‘Christmas’ because it's not politically correct," Trump continued. "You go to department stores, and they'll say, ‘Happy New Year’ and they'll say other things. And it will be red, they'll have it painted, but they don't say it. Well, guess what? We're saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again.”
This isn't the first time Trump has commented on this subject matter.
“I'm a good Christian. If I become president, we're gonna be saying Merry Christmas at every store," Trump said at an Iowa event back in 2015. "You can leave happy holidays at the corner.”
