Car New | HPE Camaro ZL1 ‘Exorcist Tries To Steal The Demons Flame\r

Texas based tuning company Hennessey Performance Engineering has debuted its new 1,000 horsepower package for the Camaro ZL1. Dubbed ‘The Exorcist, HPE is positioning the kit as an alternative to the drag strip-slaying Dodge Demon that will debut in New York City next week.\r
\r
To boost the new ZL1 to 1,000 horsepower, HPE applied a high-flow supercharger and intercooler ported cylinder heads, an upgraded camshaft, long-tube stainless steel headers, a high-flow air intake system and a custom ECU map. The tuning company says 0-60 mph times of under 3 seconds will be possible, along with 1/4-mile times of under 10 seconds.\r

The people at HPE must have taken a good hard look at the press releases for the Demon, because they are also offering a ‘drag pack for The Exorcist that include Nitto drag radials, a drive shaft upgrade, a floor jack and a tool kit for an extra $8,995. Wed probably splurge on that – unless converting your sportscars driveshaft to dust is something high up on your to-do list.\r
\r
Unlike the Demon, the Camaro Exorcist will be both road-course and drag strip capable. A road race pack is also available as an alternative to the drag pack that includes a set of lightweight 20-inch Hennessey wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Wed probably throw the ZL1s 1LE package on the car if we were to take it on the track, though. We wouldnt want to explore the limits of the ZL1s handling capabilities with 1,000 horsepower and no aero or brake upgrades.
