A cute video has emerged from China of a Tonkin leaf monkey carrying its offspring across a river.

The video, captured in Tongren Prefecture in eastern Guizhou Province on October 9, shows several monkeys making their way across the stretch of water after foraging.

However, the youngest one refuses to follow its mother, apparently afraid of the water.

Finally, the mother returns to carry him across.
