Hello! :) In my latest sewing tutorial youll learn how to make one of the hottest trends in 2016 - an off the shoulder top! Off shoulder shirts have been all the rage this year and they look great on so many body types from small frames to plus size figures because they highlight the shoulders and show a little skin but still provide plenty of coverage!\r

I used about 1 2/3 yards of a lightweight non stretch (woven) fabric to sew my top, plus enough 1/2 inch thick elastic to wrap around your shoulders which keeps the top on you and creates those cool gathers along the top edge of the fabric. Youll also want to grab a shirt with sleeves to use as a template and some sheer paper (i.e. tracing paper, tissue paper, etc.) to use for a pattern.\r

Most of my sewing tutorials use stretch fabric but I wanted to do something a little different for this tutorial and used a non stretch fabric. as I noted in the video, its very important to cut your bodice & sleeves plenty wide so you can get that non stretch fabric over your head! I ually had more difficulties editing this tutorial and explaining all the steps than I have in a while. while I think I succeeded in explaining things, I really hope you think so too! :)\r
