Public shaming isnt a new form of punishment; for example, people used to be locked in stocks for crimes to embarrass them in a public fashion. But in the Internet age, public shaming has been taken to a whole other level. Stories can go viral because they are easier to share and mob mentality of people who can remain anonymous takes over. As a result, a number of people have had their lives ruined over something they did because of the shaming they received over the Internet. A lot of the people on the list didnt even do anything illegal, yet they are branded with shame making it difficult to move on with their life.\r
