A shelf cloud, or morning glory, was captured on camera from an aircraft flying over the Gulf of Carpentaria in Far North Queensland.
This footage, filmed between 2012 and 2013, shows the spectacular phenomenon. Local media said the long shelf clouds were not unusual in northern Australia during spring. Credit: Robert Thompson via Storyful
