Footage has emerged of Catalan residents praising firefighters for their protection during police crackdown on October 1.

The video, captured in Reus, shows the crowd cheering as firefighters drive by a polling station in their truck during the vote counting.

According to the latest reports, more than 760 people were injured during the clashes with police.
