Using Rufus (Easy Way) How to Create a Windows 8 (8.1) Bootable USB Flash Drive\r
\r
1) Download Rufus \r
\r
2) Download a copy of Windows 8.1 or 8 (I downloaded my copy from DreamSpark)\r
3) Open the executable file of Rufus\r
4) Plug in your USB Flash Drive (Back-up any important files on that USB Flash Drive). We will format the Flash Drive\r
5) You can leave the settings as default\r
6) Click the button that opens an ISO\r
7) Find the ISO of the Windows 8.1 file\r
8) The settings will change corresponding to the ISO file (in this case, Windows 8.1)\r
9) The ISO file will finish being set into the USB within 15 minutes or so\r
10) After Rufus finishes setting the USB Flash Drive with Windows 8.1, then safely eject your USB Flash Drive\r
11) When restarting your computer, press F2, F8, or F10 to get into the utility set-up to change the Boot Order\r
12) Change the Boot Order so that USB Drive is at the top of the list, so that USB Flash Drive will have priority boot order than the Hard Drive\r
13) Press a key to boot on a USB Flash Drive with Windows 8.1\r
14) Set-up runs normally. It works!\r
15) I install Windows 8.1 successfully\r
