Nearly all of the U.S. territory's residents are still without electricity since Hurricane Maria thrashed the island last week, and it could take months before it's fully restored. As it begins to rebuild, Puerto Rico should consider new forms of power sourcing and distribution to prevent a similar crisis in the future.
