How to decorate your cookies like Christmas trees using royal icing.\r
In this Christmas cookie decorating tutorial I show you how to use royal icing to decorate your biscuits to look like white Christmas trees! Tools and products used in this video - \r
Ready made royal icing - \r
Silver pearls - \r
Piping nozzle PME - \r
Christmas tree cutters - \r
PME lustre spray - \r

Gingerbread man recipe - \r
350g / 2.5 cups of plain (all-purpose) flour\r
1tsp bicarbonate of soda\r
2 tsp ground ginger\r
100g / 8 tbsp butter\r
175g / 1 cup soft light brown sugar\r
1 large egg\r
4 tbsp golden syrup\r

- Sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda and ginger.\r
- Add the butter and blend until the mix looks like breadcrumbs.\r
- beat the egg and golden syrup together before adding to the rest of the mix.\r
- knead briefly until smooth, wrap in clingfim and leave to chill in the fridge for 30-60 minutes.\r
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Line two baking trays with greaseproof paper.\r
- cut out desired shapes and leave in the oven for 8-12 mins.\r
- move to a wire rack to finish cooling. \r
