How to bake a Rainbow layer cake using a vanilla cake packet mix - Greens Vanilla Cake Mix.\r
\r
Ingredients & materials I used are listed below:\r
\r
3 x Packs of Greens Vanilla Cake Mix 470g Box (or whatever brand you like)\r
(Each packet of this cake mix required 2 eggs, 150ml or ⅔ cup milk & 60g or 3 tablespoons butter or margarine)\r
I didnt use the icing mix in this cake box but my own swiss meringue buttercream recipe to fill will.\r

Amended instructions: For each cake box mix to make cake batter smoothly have butter at room temp. & beat until slightly pale.\r
Add flour mix & eggs & beat through slightly till mostly combined.\r
Then add milk & mix though for a couple of minutes until combined.\r
Bake for about 15 mins. (or until a wooden skewer comes out clean) when the batter is divided into 2 round 8 inch pans and baked together.\r

2 Round 8 inch cake tins/pans (each pan will have about 330g wet cake batter mix)\r
Baking paper\r
Scissors & Pencil\r
8 inch cake board\r
Cake turn table\r
Cake cooling racks\r
Toothpick or cake tester\r
Large bowl & smaller bowls with mixing spoons\r
Electric hand mixer\r
Scale \r
Food Colour Gels (in red, blue, green & yellow)\r

(Amended food dye colour suggestions)\r
Red Cake (8 drops red food dye)\r
Yellow Cake (4 drops yellow food dye)\r
Blue Cake (3 drops blue food dye)\r
Green Cake (3 drops green food dye)\r
Orange Cake (1 drop red, 3 drops yellow food dye)\r
Purple Cake (1 drop blue, 3 drops red food dye)\r
Each cake level about 2cm in height when baked and levelled to 1.7cm with a cake leveller or serrated knife.\r

Swiss meringue buttercream or whatever buttercream you like to fill with. \r
