Welcome back to Gadget Jeff TV. Today we will be quickly reviewing some crazy wicked lasers. These things are no joke. Rated at over 1500mw in power. These lasers have the ability to pop balloons, cut through tape and even strike matches. Unfortunately, they are quite dangerous. Severe eye damage can occur if proper handling and use is not exercised.\r

Both these lasers are Class 4 on the laser classification chart. This chart measures the overall safety of lasers. Class 4 for the highest and the most dangerous. THESE ARE NOT TOYS! Treat them like a loaded gun when handling.\r

After purchasing my high power lasers, I wanted to make sure they cranked out the stated power from the seller. So I purchased a Laserbee A laser power meter from J.Bauer electronics for $200. This is the entry level laser power meter but it gets the job done and will read lasers up to 2 watts (2000mW) accurately.\r

I get roughly 10-12 minutes of continous use with the cheaper eBay version. This unit uses 3.7v 1200mAH batteries. The larger laser from Jetlasers can be used for over 25 minutes with its larger 3000mAH batteries.\r

The great think about the laser from Jetlasers is the safety features and overall laser beam quality. There is less divergence on this unit over the cheap eBay model. Its also easy to adjust the laser using the turn cap at the front. It also features a built in easy to see LED battery indicator as well as a safety key lock on the back to prevent unauthorized use.\r

Ive always had a thing for laser pointers since I was a kid. Guess they just reminded me of Star Wars and things. The idea that a beam could travel miles from something in my hand always mesmerized me. Now again, these guys are not toys. The should be used by adults only and sober adults at that!\r

There is also another brand that sells these types of high power laser pointers, called Wicked Lasers. They even have a 3w model called the Artic 3 Spyder. However, the way I see it, if your not content with 1.5w, a 3w wont really do that much more. \r

Stay safe if you get into these and remember, dont let your kitty chase the dot around your house. Or you will have a blind kitty in no time!!!\r
