Jobs growth misses forecasts as unemployment rises

After two straight months of hefty gains, the U.S. economy added a lower-than-projected 156,000 jobs, and the unemployment rate rose slightly to 4.4 percent. The services sector had the weakest growth, as employment increased by only 95,000. The Labor Department's report showed that manufacturing, construction, healthcare and mining industries all grew.
