Window tinting is a polyester film that is applied to the inside or outside of glass. To give it its special properties the polyester is coated with various metals and chemicals which are then protected from the elements by extra layers of protective plastic.

There are many reasons why window tinting is beneficial… to prevent glare, reflect solar energy, give privacy, reduce graffiti and vandalism or to improve glass safety.
Window film works on two principles –

to reflect the sun’s light and heat back outside, and
to absorb the light and heat.

There are two types of window tint technology – non-reflective or dyed films (these films primarily absorb solar energy), and reflective or metalised films (these absorb as well as reflect solar energy). Hybrid films combine layers of both technology to be non-reflective AND reflect the sun’s energy.
