Most days, Paris Hilton doesn’t make a lot of headlines, but now she’s having to apologize for her recent comments about a very headline oriented individual: President Donald Trump.

While Trump is currently taking criticism for his comments on the situation in Charlottesville, an interview with Paris Hilton published quotes of her saying that she’s “known him since I was a little girl,” and that “he’s always been so nice, so respectful and sweet.”

Not the side Paris wanted to be on at the moment, we guess, because according to Us Weekly, she says “I want to apologize for my comments from an interview I did last year… They were part of a much larger story and I am regretful that they were not delivered the way I had intended.”

The interview also mentions Paris taking Trump’s side on those “grabbing” comments he was recorded making years ago… But now, she tells us, “I am deeply hurt by how this pas played out and also deeply sorry. Moving forward I will continue to do what I can to be an advocate for girls and women.”

Bad timing for Paris to be making pro-Trump comments in Hollywood.
