A pedestrian bridge collapsed in the central Israeli town of Givat Schmuel, killing a truck driver after the bridge fell onto the vehicle. The Elhanon bridge, which connects Givat Shmuel and Bnei Brak, fell onto Highway 4. Paramedics and fire crews arrived on the scene within ten minutes and worked for hours to free the 60-year-old driver, who was discovered lifeless and pronounced dead at the scene. The cause for the collapse still unknown.
