After making its second landfall late Wednesday, August 9, Hurricane Franklin weakened and moved inland, bringing heavy rain to Mexico City and other parts of the country.

Franklin came ashore just north of Veracruz, Mexico, with top sustained winds at 85 mph and quickly weakened back to a tropical storm. It is expected to dump heavy rains over central Mexico before dissipating later Thursday. Credit: webcamsdemexico via Storyful
