Three animal residents of the Oregon Zoo, in Portland, Oregon, found their own ways to keep cool on August 1, as the weather continued to get hotter.

Portland was under excessive heat warnings the first week of August. On August 1, the National Weather Service predicted temperatures would exceed 109 degrees Fahrenheit. On Thursday, August 3, temperatures reached 105 degrees at the Portland International Airport.
