Footage has emerged from China of cars travelling along a flooded highway which has reportedly become a unique tourist attraction.

The Yongwu highway in Poyang lake is partially submerged due to recent heavy rainfall.

It is now attracting a surge of thrill seeking motorists looking to navigate the tricky road.

According to local reports, the highway has been described as an 'overwater Maldives.
