Several Turkish air raids targeted the Syrian Kurdish town of Ma’araska, located north of Afrin near the Turkish border, amid several military overflights of the area, according to Kurdish media reports. There are no clear reports on casualties.
Despite no major reports of injuries, the footage shows a large number of damaged residential properties and debris strewn across the ground. An impact crater for a munition can be identified, however, it is nor possibly to confirm what type of weapon was used in the raids.
The air raids reportedly originated at a Turkish military base in Azaz, located in the northern Aleppo province, where a number of scuffles with Kurdish Peoples Protection Units (YPG) in recent days have led to increased tensions. Unconfirmed reports claim multiple Turkish soldiers were killed in an ambush attack launched by the YPG hours earlier in the vicinity of Ma’araska.
