Police responded to reports of a man carrying a crossbow and knife in central Manchester on July 27.

Greater Manchester Police tweeted praise to members of the public for providing them information describing it as “pivotal to his speedy + safe detention”.

Footage uploaded by Twitter user A Nick Zahn taken from a height, shows police cars arrive at the scene.
