President Trump on Tuesday took another aim at Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
President Trump on Tuesday continued his open criticism of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Trump tweeted, "...Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!"
He also said, "Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign - 'quietly working to boost Clinton.' So where is the investigation A.G. @seanhannity."
Just one day prior, Trump called Sessions "beleaguered."
Trump wrote, "So why aren't the Committees and investigators, and of course our beleaguered A.G., looking into Crooked Hillarys crimes & Russia relations?"
His tweet attack on Sessions comes just days after he expressed his frustration with the attorney general in an interview with the New York Times.
The president suggested that Sessions removing himself from matters involving Russia paved the way for special prosecutor Robert Mueller’s appointment.
Trump called the move “very unfair to the president,” and said, “Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else.”
In the wake of Trump's continued public attack on Sessions, CNN's Chris Cillizza noted Monday, "...at this point, it is very tough for Sessions to simply ignore the message coming out of the White House. And that message is: We want you gone. So, go."
