This is considered the “dirtiest apartment that anyone has ever seen.” New York sanitary worker Martin Fernandez and his crew had the difficult task of cleaning it. The former tenant was said to have given up on life for a year before moving out, leaving behind a dead cat, thousands of cockroaches, and tons of garbage. Fernandez complained that the city authorities allowed the tenant to occupy the room for too long, resulting in an unbearable condition. The former tenant denied entrance to the health exterminators before his eviction.
