A flooding Des Plaines River shut down streets and threatened homes and businesses in Gurnee, Illinois, on Thursday, July 13. The National Weather Service reported the river was at 10.5 feet, meaning 3.5 feet over flood stage.
The NWS forecasted the river to reach 12 feet by Saturday morning, with a fall below flood stage on Tuesday.
