Crews with the Santa Barbara County Animal Services division road with fire crews along the front lines of the Whitter Fire to reunite stranded animals with their owners. This video was posted on Sunday, July 9.

According to the video, one parrot and four dogs were reunited with their “worrisome owners.”

The Whittier Fire grew to nearly 11,000 acres by Monday, July 10 with five percent containment, according to local news. The Outdoor School at Rancho Alegre was engulfed in the blaze, killing animals in the nature destroy and destroying the camp, a statement from the school said.
