Dozens of people dressed as the US president gathered at Newcastle Beach on July 4 in a new movement aimed at making increasingly absurd characterisations of Donald Trump.
The Trump My Trump group said they are attempting to start a trend whereby people are encouraged to outdo other people’s mockery of the US president. Video showed the head of the Trump pack carrying an amalgam of the Australian and United States flags. A member of the group said it was meant to signify the US’s dominance over Australian politics.
The performance shows the Trumps marching down Newcastle Beach in New South Wales, seated before the words “Paris Agreement we the parties blah blah blah” scrawled in the sand, before the waves sweep the group off their feet.
It is unclear whether the demonstration is a sincere criticism or an absurdist satire. Credit: Trump My Trump via Storyful
