Mexico’s Popocatepetl blew a column of ash into the sky in the early hours of July 4.
The column was approximately 2.5 km (1.5 miles) high and facing west, according to a report by the country’s National Center for Disaster Prevention. The volcano also produced 119 small eruptions over the last 24 hours, accompanied by steam and gas. Credit: webcamsdemexico via Storyful
