New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is facing criticism after photos emerged of him and his family relaxing on a state beach which he hard ordered closed to the public. The Republican governor shut down the state government at midnight on Saturday in a health insurance battle with the Democrat-led legislature. The pictures prompted heavy criticism on social media. During a press conference on Sunday (after the pictures were taken), Christie was asked about staying at the beach while the beaches were shut down. Christie responded. When shown the pictures, a Christie spokesman responded: "He did not get any sun. He had a baseball hat on."
